2006 Recipients

Tim Riley

To receive the Tyler Richards Memorial Scholarship was a great honor. Unfortunately, Tyler and I did not know each other very well, but I'll always remember how he was the only player from the eight grade basketball team who talked and helped me while I was on the seventh grade team. His kind actions influenced me to give a helping hand whenever possible. The family scholarship donation will significantly help my finances as a full time student at Grove City College (Grove City, PA) where I will be studying entrepreneurship. Tyler's scholarship will help me build my strengths in the career world.

Rachel Swartwout

I am currently a student at Grand Valley State University. I am planning on receiving a Bachelor of Art in professional writing with a minor in either political science or business. I hope to one day earn my Master's as well. I would like to eventually become a published writer. It was a tremendous honor to receive Tyler's scholarship and I hope to make him and his family very proud.

2005 Recipients

Troy Morris

The Tyler Richards Memorial Scholarship helped me tremendously to meet the expense of tuition at Madonna University where I am currently majoring in Business Administration. The scholarship money allowed me to attend the university full time my freshman year without any loans and will help finance tuition for the remainder of my collage career. It has been an honor and great privilege receiving the award and having my name associated with the Richards family.

Bridget Murphy

I am currently attending Grand Valley State University. I am planning on getting a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and minoring in physical education, hoping to become a secondary education math and gym teacher. I also would really enjoy to coach a sport, like basketball, while teaching. I like working with people and I think teaching would be perfect for me.

Cameron Byram

I was one of the first people selected to receive the Tyler Richards Memorial Scholarship. I am currently enrolled at Western Michigan University. I have an undeclared major at this time but my heart is set on Communications. I enjoy interacting with people. I have spoke and sung in front of large crowds for as long as I can remember. With a Communications Major, I can pursue many different avenues. I feel that my strengths lie in the area of public relations. This scholarship has helped me get closer to reaching my goals.
